Crystals For Beginners

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog!! You'll notice that this post will be uploaded a bit later than normal and that's because I'M IN BOSTON! As you can tell, I am very excited to be here, we are here for my cousin's Arangetram. She's a classical Indian dancer and this is basically like a pre-debut performance/graduation ceremony. It has a lot of history and meaning behind it but that's maybe for another day. I've been very busy making revision materials for some tests I have coming up and simultaneously I have also been planning an essay for this Cambridge philosophy essay competition. The title is 'What is the difference between knowledge and understanding?' which isn't too hard seeing as there has been a lot of work done on epistemology but it's more just finding the time to get things done. I thought I should do a super easy to write about post so I am able to get more revision and research done, so, let's talk about some crystals!

Clear Quartz - We have to start with the basic b crystal. Clear quartz can be used to amplify the power of any other crystal and that's why it is often known as the master healer. It is known to be able to clear the mind, body and spirit to enable easy manifestation, allows you to balance emotions and helps create focus and clarity. It is associated with the crown chakra (I will write a post explaining the chakras soon!)

Rose Quartz - Still another powerful crystal that's a variant of quartz, this is probably a crystal you'll find with everyone who collects crystals. It is the crystal all about love. Attracting love from others, channeling self love and restoring harmony within relationships. It is also linked with feminity, compassion and beauty. It is associated with the heart chakra.

Black Tourmaline - This is an essential for empaths. It has uncountable grounding properties, absorbs negative energies from the outside world and within you, providing you with some of the best protection you can get from energy vampires. It helps with anxiety and turns your anxious thoughts into positive ones. It is associated with the root chakra.

Amethyst - Another very basic crystal that nearly everyone has, yet, it has immeasurable properties. This crystal is all about intuition and third eye opening. This is a strong crystal that will benefit you on your spiritual journey while simultaneously removing negative energetic influences. It promotes calmness and serenity and aids in decision making. It is associated with the crown chakra.

Selenite - This crystal gives me really similar energy to clear quartz but I tend to use my selenite and clear quartz for different things if that makes sense. Selenite is all about mental clarity and cleansing. It brings you peace, tranquility and helps with connecting with angels/spirit guides. I tend to use it for cleansing my other crystals, my tarot and oracle cards and even myself when I need to. It is associated with the crown and third eye chakras.

Citrine - It is linked with positivity and optimism. I find this crystal very lucky and tend to carry it around EVERYWHERE. It helps manifest financial abundance and opportunities. It helps balance emotions and bring joy within you. It will help you feel confident and helps you grow emotionally. It is on the more expensive side and hard to find real ones as opposed to heat treated amethyst but I would really recommend it, I guess I'm also a bit biased because it is my birthstone haha. It is associated with the sacral chakra.

Labradorite - Not only is this stone quite possibly the prettiest stone I own but also one I carry around very often. This stone is all about transformation. It helps calm an overactive mind, reduce fear and insecurities, protects against negativity, promotes confidence, enhances intuition and spiritual abilities and also helps you connect with your spirit guides. It is also linked with deep communication skills allowing you to enhance your wisdom. As you can see, it helps with many things and I find I always resonate with this stone a lot. It is associated with the throat and third eye chakras.

Tiger's Eye - Tiger's eye was actually one of the very first crystals I got when I was really little from my grandfather in India. He's super cool and has this crystal business. Anyways, this crystal is excellent for motivation and helps you live life much more boldly. It symbolises a tiger's courage and bravery which allows you to develop those attributes. Overall it helps develop willpower and focus which helps you live a happier life. It is associated with the solar plexus chakra.

Fluorite - Rainbow fluorite is incredibly beautiful. I got gifted a mini tower from one of my best friends and whenever I have a test, you'll always find it in my school bag. It helps you be in tune with yourself. It helps you make well balanced and wise choices. It enhances creativity and encourages you to think outside of the box. It also aids in warding off negative energy and fight off stress. It is associated with all the chakras but mainly the heart chakra.

Dalmatian Jasper - It helps balance the Yin and Yang energies of the body seeing as it is a white crystal dotted with black tourmaline. It is a pretty playful stone as it helps us realise the joys of everyday life, it brings us strength and determination and it also encourages harmony. It has an overall calming spirit and is associated with the root chakra.

Carnelian - This is definitely the baddie crystal. Carnelian is powerful as hell and is exactly what anyone who has insecurities or a confidence boost needs. It promotes courage, banishes negativity, enhances the love of life, helps overcome depression and also helps with creativity. This is the ultimate glow up crystal that is a necessity for everyone. It is associated with the sacral chakra.

I could easily carry on writing about crystals forever and this is easily less than half of the crystals I own but unfortunately I do have work I need to get to so I'm going to end it here for today. I hope you have a good day and week ahead, love you guys <33
